A chieftain of African Democratic Congress, ADC, Benchuks Nwosu has firmly stated that no right thinking Igbo person will support President Tinubu over Mr Peter Obi in the 2027 election.
Nwosu, a former Deputy Speaker of the Anambra State House of Assembly and chairman of the ADC’s membership registration process, made this statement yesterday at a gathering in Ukpor, Nnewi South LGA, Anambra State, during Obunike Ohaegbu’s declaration for the House of Representatives.
Obunike Ohaegbu, a businessman and lawyer with a PhD in law, is running on the party’s platform to represent the federal constituencies of Ekwusigo, Nnewi North, and Nnewi South.
Nwosu while speaking said, said: “Peter Obi is the only Igbo man contesting for presidency in 2027. We know that some of you have APGA in your blood but APGA is not contesting presidency, so when you come to vote on that day, please vote for Peter Obi, to avoid wasting your vote.
The ADC chieftain further urged the people to avoid wasting their votes by voting APGA since it is not contesting for presidency
Additionally, he affirmed “nobody in Igbo land would vote for Tinubu because we are all in Nigeria and we can see how the country is going, and we do not need to be told that the best candidate is Mr Peter Obi.”

Amid claims by Daniel Bwala, a presidential aide that Peter Obi will never become Nigeria’s president, the former Anambra governor has severally revealed his ambition to contest.
He said several people had tried to discourage him from joining the race, but he affirmed that he remains determined.
Obi also vowed legal action against INEC adding that there is no justification for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to control how political parties choose their candidates in primary elections.
Additionally he recently hinted that he will not hesitate to switch parties as many items as possible if the need arises.
He said, “If that process is again compromised, I will speak out.
“If I have to move 20 times, I will.”
