Political activist and youth leader, Usman Okai-Austin, has stated that what the North urgently needs is genuine development, not merely the retention of political power.
Okai-Austin, who contested as the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Dekina/Bassa Federal Constituency in the 2023 elections, made this known during an exclusive interview with The Tribune.
He criticized northern leaders for failing to tackle critical issues such as poverty, insecurity, and the alarming rise in the number of out-of-school children, despite the region’s long history of holding political power.
