The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) said it is reviewing the results of the 2026 Osun election across the state’s 332 wards before deciding on its next course of action.
The party disclosed this in a statement issued on Sunday by its Director of Media and Information, Kola Olabisi, following INEC’s declaration of the election results.
The APC said its leadership was examining the results to determine whether it could use the constitutional window for challenging issues that arose during the election process.
“We are currently studying the results of the governorship election in each of the 332 wards across the state with a view to exploring further the allowed constitutional window of opportunity in this regard,” the statement said.
The party emphasised that parties unhappy with certain aspects of an election still had legal options, pointing out that the electoral process went beyond the announcement of results.
According to the APC, an election cannot be deemed over until parties have had a chance to remedy any claimed anomalies using constitutionally allowed legal processes.
“An election cannot be said to have been concluded without having explored all these constitutionally allowed legal opportunities to correct anomalies observed in the process of the election as enshrined in the Electoral Act 2026 as amended,” the party stated.
The APC commended its members and supporters for their dedication throughout the election, saying their efforts had taken the party to a significant point in Osun State’s political history.
The party said it would consult its legal team before deciding whether to pursue further action under the Electoral Act. It also reaffirmed its commitment to justice, fairness, and the rule of law.

This comes following INEC’s announcement of the results from the just concluded Osun election.
Following the release of the results from 20 local government areas in the Osun governorship election, Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party has established a commanding lead over his All Progressives Congress, or APC, opponent, Bola Oyebamiji.
According to earlier reports, Adeleke secured the victory leading APC’s Oyebamiji with over 70 thousand votes.
Adeleke’s victory also saw him win 19 of Osun’s 30 local government areas, while Oyebamiji won the remaining 11. The result gives Adeleke another four-year term after he previously won the 2022 election under the Peoples Democratic Party before later defecting to the Accord Party.
