Four travellers have been confirmed dead and 10 others injured on Wednesday following a bomb explosion at Komala village along the Maiduguri–Damboa Road in Borno State.
The incident, which occurred around 3:30pm, involved a Suzuki pick-up truck that ran over an improvised explosive device.

“I confirm that the incident happened. Four persons died and 10 sustained various degrees of injuries.
According to ASP Nahum Daso, a spokesperson for the Borno State Police Command, who confirmed the incident, the injured individuals were taken to the state Specialist Hospital in Maiduguri for medical attention.
According to eye witnesses and road users, the bomb explosion resulted in a significant traffic jam that delayed travel for many hours.
This is coming only two months after a similar IED attack on the same route claimed eight lives and injured 11 others and a previous explosion at local bus stop in Mairari village, Guzamala Local Government Area of the state which claimed 9 lives.
