“Increasing the direct connections between Nigeria and Brazil is another essential step to strengthen the ties between our societies,” he said.
“We have approved the launch of a direct flight, to be operated by Nigeria’s largest airline company, Air Peace, between Lagos and São Paulo.”
The two leaders reportedly observed the signing of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) and agreements during a two-hour bilateral meeting in the Palácio do Planalto in Brasília, which preceded the development.

According to Onanuga, a bilateral air services agreement was signed by Brazil’s minister of ports and airports, Silvio Costa Filhos, and minister of aviation and aerospace development Festus Keyamo in an effort to “boost trade and people-to-people ties.”
Onanuga further revealed that an agreement on collaboration in diplomatic training was signed by Mauro Vieira, the Brazilian counterpart of Nigeria’s Foreign Affairs Minister Bianca Ojukwu.
According to the presidential adviser, the two ministers also inked a Memorandum of Understanding on political discussions to discuss bilateral, regional, and global matters of shared interest.

“Nigeria’s Minister of Innovation, Science, and Technology, Geoffrey Nnaji and Brazil’s Minister of Science, Technology, and Innovation, Luciana Santos, signed an MoU on cooperation in biotechnology, bioeconomy, ocean science, innovation ecosystems, energy, space development, digital transformation, and raw materials research,” the statement reads.
