Introducing Daramola, a student from Ondo who achieved six As in WAEC and scored 341 in UTME, defying the trend of mass failure.

Miss Oluwademilola Oreoluwa Daramola, hailing from Ogbagi Akoko in the Akoko North-West local government area of Ondo State, has achieved an outstanding aggregate score of 341 marks in the recently concluded 2024 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) conducted by the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB).

Additionally, Daramola secured six Distinctions, comprising straight As and three Bs, in the 2023 Senior School Certificate Examination (SSCE) administered by the West Africa Examinations Council (WAEC).

Her remarkable accomplishments are particularly noteworthy given the backdrop of the overall performance breakdown released by JAMB for the 2024 examination year, indicating that over 76% of candidates scored below 200.

During the examination period from April 19th to April 29th, over 1.9 million candidates participated in the computer-based test aimed at assessing candidates for admission into tertiary institutions across Nigeria. However, Mr. Oloyede, the Registrar of JAMB, disclosed that the results of 64,624 candidates have been withheld due to potential infractions, pending further investigation by the board.

Mr. Oloyede revealed, “Out of a total of 1,989,668 registered candidates, 80,810 were absent. A total of 1,904,189 candidates sat for the UTME within the six days of the examination…” He confirmed the release of results for 1,842,464 candidates.
