A fire outbreak at the popular Owode market in Offa, Kwara State, has destroyed many shops and goods. The fire started around 4 a.m. in the Sunniaba area of the market and quickly spread, engulfing several shops. Eyewitnesses and video footage captured the devastating scene, with distraught traders witnessing their livelihoods consumed by flames. Firefighters from the Federal Fire Service and Kwara State Fire Service managed to quench the fire, but not before at least five shops were affected.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation. This incident comes after previous fires in the area, including one that razed a residential building and another that destroyed 14 shops in Tanke, Ilorin, just a few months ago.
