PDP crisis: INEC Steps In, Explains Talks With 2 Rival Factions

The Independent National Electoral Commission(INEC), has explained the reason for its decision to invite the two warring factions of the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP), for dialogue.

Recall that it was earlier reported that the Commission waded into the crisis rocking the party by bringing the two sides together at its national headquarters in Abuja on Friday.

According to commission’s Chairman Prof. Joash Amupitan, the electoral umpire made the decision to invite every party, particularly after receiving contradictory correspondence from the disputing parties.

“We felt that by rubbing minds together, it’ll be a good opportunity for us to forge the way forward concerning the elections,” Amupitan said.
