Nigerian skit maker and content creator Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has claimed that some of the dollar notes sprayed on him during his wedding to fellow content creator Jarvis were counterfeit.
The Peller fake dollars wedding allegation was made in a video shared by the content creator, where he recounted his experience after taking the money to the bank.
According to Peller, the Nigerian naira he received during the celebration was confirmed to be genuine, but he later discovered that some of the dollar notes were allegedly fake.
“I went to the bank, and the Nigerian money was genuine. A lot of people sprayed me with naira, and I appreciate them. I know the people who gave me genuine money, and I can recognise them,” he said.
The skit maker alleged that after returning home, he felt excited about the money he had received and even used it while recording a video before realising that some of the dollar notes were not genuine.
“When I got home, I felt like a millionaire and used the money to make a video. Later, I realised the dollars were fake. I was speechless,” he said.
Peller further revealed that he only discovered the alleged counterfeit notes when he attempted to exchange the dollars.
“Since I went to change the dollars yesterday, I haven’t been able to stop thinking about it. Is it by force to spray money?” he asked.
