Amid the US-Iran war crisis, petrol prices in Nigeria has seen visible surge as pump price of premium motor spirit (PMS), hits as high as N1,040 per litre in Lagos and N1,080 per litre in Abuja.
This comes one day after the Dangote refinery raised the price of petrol ex-gantry to N995 per litre.
Findings on Saturday revealed that the commodity’s price has increased in a number of Lagos and Abuja retail locations.

Petrol was priced at N1,040 per litre at NNPC retail locations in Ilasa, Apple Junction, and Ago Palace Way, Lagos.
From the previous price of N993 per litre, the most recent change reflects an increase of N47.
Additionally, it was noted that PM Petroleum and Emadeb Energy were selling petrol along the Oshodi/Apapa Motorway for N1,040 per litre.

Meanwhile, the product cost N1,050 per litre at the Techno Oil retail store in Festac Town. Also, MRS filling stations in Lagos sold petrol at N1,057 per litre.
Petrol Prices In Abuja
In Abuja, Empire Energy petrol stations supplied petrol for N1,080 per litre, while Gegu Oil Nigeria along the Kubwa Motorway sold it for N1,050.
The product cost N959 a litre at an AP petrol station.

According to reports, the continuous geopolitical unrest in the Middle East, which has caused notable fluctuations in the price of crude oil globally, coincides with the increase in pump costs.
On Friday, crude oil price surged to $91 a barrel as the war involving the United States (US), Israel, and Iran continued to spread across the region.
