PDP National Secretariat boldly sealed off by police in shocking operation

The Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) national secretariat at Wadata Plaza, Abuja, was sealed on Wednesday by Nigeria Police officers.

The move comes following the intense chaos and face-off between two rival factions of the party on Tuesday.

On Tuesday, fighting broke out at the facility between members of the Saminu Turaki-led side and those who supported Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike.

Recall that during the outburst, Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State and his Bauchi counterpart, Bala Mohammed, were teargassed with others politicians scampering for safety.

On Wednesday, it was observed that a barrier made of barbed wire was in place to keep people from entering the property.

With barely a few police officers on the ground, none of the leaders of the two opposing factions could be seen at the secretariat.

Supporters of Kabiru Turaki’s faction, however, disagreed with the police’s decision to block off the area.
