The Presidency has stated that former vice president Atiku Abubakar’s political future is hopeless, only hours after important opposition leaders defected to the All Progressives Congress, ahead of 2027.
Recall that the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) 2023 presidential candidate, Atiku is currently working to form a coalition to run against APC President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

In a post on Thursday, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, described the PDP leader Atiku “a loser” and characterized his political future as gloomy.
Onanuga taking to his X page wrote: “Atiku’s political future looks bleak.

“The coalition that he, El-Rufai, Babachir, and new member Baba-Ahmed are cobbling together has disintegrated.
“Potential allies, including former running mate Ifeanyi Okowa and defunct CPC members, are giving his leprous group a wide berth. Atiku is a loser again.”
This follows Delta State Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Atiku’s former running mate Ifeanyi Okowa defection from the PDP to the APC.

On Wednesday, after a meeting at the Delta State Government House in Asaba, Okowa’s decision to defect to the APC was made public.
He emphasized that he was headed in the correct direction and clarified that his choice was not a mistake.
