2027 elections: Atiku, Obi, Amaechi, Yusuf Datti, others converge in Abuja
Former Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi, former vice president Atiku Abubakar, former Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi, and former Yusuf LP vice presidential contender Datti Baba-Ahmed are currently meeting in Abuja.
The opposition figures are meeting at the Continental Hotel in the nation’s capital for the National Political Consultative Group, North.

The meeting has raised speculations that it may be to in connections with ongoing talks on coalition to unseat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections.
Despite claims that Atiku has selected Obi as his running mate for the 2027 elections, it is still unknown what platform the coalition will compete on.

Obi, however, stated in a viral video that he would contest the 2027 elections under the Labour Party.
He made the promise in a 7-minute, 16-second video that was making the rounds on the party’s WhatsApp account on Saturday while addressing a group of teenage fans.

Obi clarified to his audience that the government’s mark is clearly seen in the two main opposition political groups, the Labour Party and the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which seem to be experiencing an internal crisis.
