Russia has officially added Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy to its wanted list, as reported by the state news agency TASS. The Russian Interior Ministry’s database listed Zelenskyy as wanted, although no further details were provided. In response, Ukraine dismissed the report, labeling it as a sign of Moscow’s “desperation.” Ukraine’s Foreign Ministry pointed out that Russian President Vladimir Putin himself could face arrest under an International Criminal Court warrant for war crimes.
The ministry emphasized that the Russian announcement demonstrated the desperation of the Russian state apparatus and propaganda machinery. Previously, in February 2022, Russia issued arrest warrants for several Ukrainian and European politicians, including Estonian Prime Minister Kaja Kallas, Lithuania’s culture minister, and members of the previous Latvian parliament, accusing them of destroying Soviet-era monuments.
