An AP candidate and a party chieftain engage in a dispute over financial matters.
It’s disheartening to see political disagreements escalate to such a level of hostility. Kennedy Iyere and Curtis Ugbo seem to be entangled in a complex web of financial disputes and power struggles, which have unfortunately led to threats and accusations of violence.
Kennedy Iyere’s allegations of threats to his life and the subsequent deletion of evidence on WhatsApp are deeply troubling. No one should ever feel unsafe or threatened in any circumstances, especially in the pursuit of political aspirations.
On the other hand, Curtis Ugbo’s claims of unpaid debts and his insistence on seeking recourse through legal and traditional channels are understandable. It’s important for financial agreements to be honored, but resorting to threats and aggression is never the solution.
In such situations, it’s crucial for both parties to engage in constructive dialogue and seek resolution through peaceful means. Resorting to violence or threats only exacerbates the situation and undermines the democratic process.
Let’s hope that cooler heads prevail, and that both Kennedy Iyere and Curtis Ugbo can find a way to address their grievances and move forward in a manner that upholds the principles of fairness, accountability, and respect for the rule of law.
