Commissioners Exodus: Five Pro-Wike Members Quit Fubara’s Cabinet, Full List Revealed.

Five commissioners serving in Governor Siminalayi Fubara’s cabinet in Rivers State have resigned amidst a political crisis in the state. The commissioners who resigned are Chinedu Mmom (Education), Gift Worlu (Housing), Jacobson Nbina (Transport), Austen Ben-Chioma (Environment), and Inime Aguma (Social Welfare). Their resignations follow accusations from Fubara against his predecessor and political godfather, Nyesom Wike, regarding a debt burden. In their resignation letters, the commissioners cited reasons such as a toxic work environment, political crisis, and lack of trust. The resignations deepen the feud between Fubara and the state House of Assembly, with recent moves including the election of a new speaker and Fubara’s executive order relocating the assembly to the Government House. Despite President Tinubu’s intervention in the crisis last year, tensions persist between the parties involved.
