Governor Chukwuma Soludo of Anambra State has stated that he does not see any strong competitor as he seeks re-election in the November 8, 2025, governorship election.
According to Soludo, there is a general agreement among the people of Anambra that his party, the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has delivered democratic benefits and deserves another opportunity in the upcoming election.
Soludo made this remark during a media discussion marking his third anniversary in office. He emphasized that while residents of the South-East state may vote for different parties in national elections, they remain loyal to APGA in governorship and local government elections
”If there is an election, I mean there will be an election, and if I am the candidate, I will be on the ballot, and then I ask: who else is running? Which party is fielding a candidate?
“So far, unless the person will come down from somewhere but so far, I have not heard of any,” he said.
The former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, mentioned that he has received calls to seek for a second term but his party would take the decision on who becomes the flag bearer.
