Anambra 2025: Charles Soludo wins APGA primary election.
Come November 8, 2025, Professor Chukwuma Soludo, the Governor of Anambra State, will be the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) flagbearer for the governorship election in the state.
The incumbent who was returned unopposed scored more than 300 votes in the primary which was held at Awka, the state capital, on Saturday.

Voting has been conducted for delegates of all the 21 local councils to either tick “yes” or “no” on the ballot. After the voting exercise, vote sorting and counting followed.
Announcing the result of the exercise, the election panel chair Uche Nwegbo said total number of delegates for the primary was 3,260; total number of accredited delegates was 3,175; total number of votes cast was 3,172; invalid votes were 4; total number of yes votes cast was 3,168; total number of no votes cast was .

With that, Nwegbo declared Soludo as the governorship candidate for APGA in the election dated November 8, 2025, to loud cheers from the crowd.
“The APGA primary election is a historic occasion,” promises Opara, “as it will require the votes of more than 3,260 delegates to make their choice.” Furthermore, he proclaimed that “the party’s leadership deserves praise for smooth, consistent, and peaceful politics, including surveying without any rancor or controversy.”

Opara also expressed hope that APGA continues to impact positively on the state’s progressive leadership.
“APGA has focused on progressive leadership and solutions-driven governance, so it is ready and set to continually make a positive impact in Anambra State,” he added.
