Burna Boy becomes African artiste with most Billboard Hot 100 entries please rephrase

Grammy-winning Nigerian singer Burna Boy has surpassed fellow Nigerian star Tems to become the African artist with the highest number of entries on the Billboard U.S. Hot 100 chart.

The two artists were previously tied with eight entries each, but Burna Boy moved ahead after securing a new spot on the chart this week with his collaboration with Shakira on the official World Cup song, Dai Dai.

The track debuted at No. 75, pushing Burna Boy’s total Hot 100 entries to nine — the highest ever by an African artist.

Dai Dai gained additional traction following Burna Boy and Shakira’s performance at the World Cup opening ceremony.

With this milestone, Burna Boy has also become the first African act to place at least one song on the Billboard Hot 100 for six straight years.

His charting records include Loved By You (2021), Last Last (2022), Sittin’ On Top Of The World and Talibans II (2023), Just Like Me and We Pray (2024), WGFT (2025), as well as Only You and Dai Dai (2026).
