The Speaker of the Benue State House of Assembly, Aondona Dajoh, has stepped down from his position.
In a handwritten letter dated August 24, 2025, and posted on his Facebook page with the caption “Let there be peace,” Aondona Dajoh officially announced his resignation. He explained that the decision was made “in good faith and in the best interest of the state.”
Expressing gratitude to his fellow lawmakers for the opportunity to serve as “the first among equals,” Aondona Dajoh reaffirmed his commitment to his legislative responsibilities and to representing the people of the Gboko West State Constituency.
