While the election process was largely peaceful, voter turnout was noticeably low in many polling units.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who voted at his polling unit in the Adeniji-Adele area, spoke to journalists shortly after casting his ballot.
Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu acknowledged that there were early logistical issues that delayed the commencement of voting in some areas, attributing the disruptions to movement restrictions.
As of 4:00 p.m., unofficial reports from various polling units indicated that the All Progressives Congress (APC) was maintaining a significant lead in several locations, including the governor’s own polling unit—Unit 006 at St. Stevens Nursery and Primary School in Adeniji-Adele. Other areas where the APC showed strong performance include Yaba, Somolu, Bariga, Ikeja, and Agege.
Preliminary results from these locations suggest that the APC is ahead in both the chairmanship and councillorship races, with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in second place and the Labour Party (LP) following in third.
The full official results are expected to be released by the Lagos State Independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) once collation is completed.
