A frontline governorship aspirant of the All Progressives Congress APC in Anambra State, Sir Paul Chukwuma, has said that the party is in a stronger position than ever to win the November 8 governorship election in the state.

He stated that the party’s current political supremacy in the state would lead to a good shift in the political landscape during this year’s election.

Chukwuma stated that the APC would provide more efficient leadership for the state when it assumes power on March 17, 2026.

Speaking on Television Continental’s, TVC, current affairs programme on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, Chukwuma also emphasized strong confidence in emerging the winner in the party’s primary election slated for Saturday, April 5, 2025.

He said: “The Catholic Church and the Anglican Church have been the driving forces behind qualitative education in Anambra, while state-owned schools continue to suffer neglect.

“We want to provide quality governance to Anambra State. The APC is the party to do it, and the time to switch to the APC is this election season.

“My optimism about winning the primary election comes from the overwhelming grassroots support I enjoy today. I believe this is due to my role in repositioning and strengthening the APC in Anambra over the past three years.”

He also differentiated between the APC’s policies at the federal level and the developmental and security challenges facing Anambra under Governor Charles Soludo’s administration.

Chukwuma emphasized that many of the state’s pressing issues are local problems that align precisely with the scope of the state government. If elected, he pledged to confront Anambra’s chronic insecurity head-on and implement decisive solutions.

Responding to claims that Anambra’s strong performance in education resulted from government-led initiatives, Chukwuma denied such claims, crediting the state’s high educational rankings to mission schools rather than public institutions.
