Ondo Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has urged opposition leaders including Peter Obi, and Atiku to put aside their aspirations and back President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s reelection ahead of the general elections in 2027.

Speaking at a political gathering in Ado Ekiti on Monday to garner support for his Ekiti State counterpart, Abiodun Oyebanji, Aiyedatiwa predicted that Tinubu will win handily and be re-elected.

He said that all 23 of the governors in the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) firmly support the president and that the South West has started the initiative to extend the Renewed Hope agenda administration and relecet Tinubu past 2027.

Oyebanji, fondly referred to as BAO, is a visionary leader whose influential projects and policies are visible throughout Ekiti state, according to the governor of Ondo.

He encouraged the people of Ekiti to grant him another term so he could build on his accomplishments, saying that they are privileged to have such a dedicated governor.

“Ekiti is lucky to have someone like BAO as governor. The developmental strides across the state are visible and commendable. He deserves a second term,” Aiyedatiwa said in a statement to journalists in Akure after the rally.

Drawing a contrast to the 2024 Ondo State gubernatorial elections, in which the APC won all 18 local councils, he also urged party members and stakeholders to put in endless effort to guarantee the APC a resounding victory across all 16 local government areas in Ekiti state.
