Atiku slams Tinubu, says he cannot tackle Nigeria’s security issues

    Former presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has slammed President Bola Tinubu , stating that the present administration lacks the capacity, skills and vision necessary to address Nigeria’s insecurity problems.

    According to Atiku, the Tinubu administration appears unconcerned about the recent murders in the Benue State communities of Logo and Gbagir in the Ukum Local Government Area.

    Recall that Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia revealed that 55 persons had been killed in the state’s Logo and Ukum Local Government Areas.

    Previous reports also revealed a heighted cases of herdsmen attacks and killings spread across several states in the country.

    Atiku responded by saying that Tinubu has decided to “galvanize in Europe” rather than address Nigeria’s insecurity issue.

    Taking to his X account, the former vice president wrote, “The Tinubu administration has proven, time and again, to be utterly incapable, wholly incompetent, and completely devoid of any coherent ideas for tackling Nigeria’s deepening security crisis.

    “This is not just my position — it is a growing consensus among political opposition leaders, respected security experts, and even members within the ruling party who, though too timid to speak publicly, confess this uncomfortable truth behind closed doors.

    “The blood of innocent Nigerians continues to be spilled with appalling regularity—most recently in the Logo and Gbagir communities of Ukum LGA in Benue State. Yet, the Tinubu presidency remains disturbingly indifferent, displaying neither urgency nor the basic decency of public empathy.”

    “Yet President Bola Tinubu, incapable of solving Nigeria’s worsening insecurity, chooses instead to gallivant across Europe — governing Nigeria in absentia as if from a holiday perch” he added.

    The president who is currently on a two-week trip to France is expected to return after the Easter holidays.
