Speaking on the floor of the Assembly, Speaker Dajoh reaffirmed the legislature’s commitment to democratic principles and the constitutional rights of all Benue citizens.
“Peaceful protest is a constitutional right,” he declared. “No one should be punished for exercising their voice in a democratic society.”

Legislators applauded the Speaker’s announcement, while civil rights activists praised it as a daring stand for civil liberty.
Security agencies were also urged by Dajoh to uphold the rights of nonviolent protesters and make sure that any future interactions with the public are conducted professionally and responsibly.
