The Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU) revealed that terrorist organizations in Nigeria, such as IPOB and Boko Haram, receive funding through global crowdfunding, online transactions, and sports betting platforms. They have identified various channels used by these groups to finance their activities, including affiliates in multiple countries, bank accounts, and suspicious transactions involving large sums of money.

The NFIU has urged law enforcement agencies to investigate these financial activities to disrupt terrorist financing networks.
