The Interim National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, has reaffirmed his commitment to upholding the party’s constitution.

He emphasized that the ADC will not tolerate any form of anti-party activities from its members, stating that discipline and unity are essential for the party’s progress.

David Mark further noted that the absence of internal democracy is a major contributor to poor governance in Nigeria. He stressed that the ADC is actively working to promote a level playing field for all members, ensuring transparency and fairness within the party.

Mark, represented by a chieftain of the party, Sen. Abubakar Sadiq Yar’adua, who represented Katsina Central at the National Assembly under the platform of the All Progressives Congress, APC, spoke during a meeting of the Coalition Partners in Kaduna at the weekend.

David Mark applauded the leadership of the party in the state for setting a pace for other states to emulate, assuring all party members and other coalition partners of a fair playing group.

The former Senate President urged them to be coordinated, as, according to him, it is not going to be business as usual.

On the registration of members, David Mark emphasized that the process would be free, fair and credible to accommodate all, adding that mechanisms are already in place to checkmate any form of manipulation that is capable of denting the image of the party.

The Kaduna State Chairman of the party, Elder Patrick Ambut, while responding, disclosed that since the day the coalition was unveiled, the membership of the party has continued to swell.

Speaking on the state of the nation vis-a-vis the coalition, Ambut emphasized that Nigeria and Nigerians have never had it so bad as what is obtainable under the leadership of the APC, from 2015 till date.

According to him, “Nigeria is in quagmire politically, economically, socially and even psychologically”.

Ambut assured that the emergence of the coalition has provided a veritable platform to give Nigeria the needed political change.

A former chieftain of the APC who is now a member of the ADC, Salihu Lukman, also said that his former political party has failed Nigeria in providing good governance to the people.

Lukman stressed that poverty, insecurity and hunger are on the increase among Nigerians, hence the need for a genuine change that the ADC is out to provide to the people.
