Dr. Mamman Mohammed, Chairman of the Yobe State Independent Electoral Commission (SIEC), has passed away.
Dr. Mamman Mohammed died on Monday at the Yobe State University Teaching Hospital in Damaturu after a brief illness.
According to family sources, the funeral prayer for the late SIEC Chairman is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at the Emir of Fika’s Palace in Potiskum.
The Fika Emirate Council confirmed his death in a statement on its official Facebook page, describing him as the “Shamakin Fika.”
“May Almighty Allah grant him Aljannah. Amin,” the statement read in part.
Until his death, Dr Mamman Mohammed, who held the traditional title of Shamaki Fika, served as Chairman of SIEC, where he oversaw local government elections in the state.
