Siminalayi Fubara, the governor of Rivers State, was hosted by President Bola Tinubu on Monday evening at the State House in Abuja.
The meeting on Monday marks the President’s first known meeting with Fubara since he was reinstated last Thursday following Rivers State’s six-month state of emergency.
Fubara arrived at the seat of power around 6:22 p.m., dressed in a white caftan and black cap.
Recall that on March 18, Tinubu announced a state of emergency in the state, halted democratic institutions, and designated a single administrator to manage its activities in a nationwide broadcast.
The meeting’s agenda had not yet been revealed as of the time of publication.

Fubara’s visit followed the President’s separate meetings with the following individuals: Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas; Executive Chairman of the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) Zacch Adedeji; Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy Wale Edun; Chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum and Governor of Kwara State AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq; and Chairman of the Progressive Governors’ Forum and Governor of Imo State Senator Hope Uzodimma.

Meanwhile, President Bola Tinubu has been encouraged by Niger Delta rights activist Ann-Kio Briggs to make public any alleged deals he has made with Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara in order to mend the governor’s relationship with Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike.
