According to Lib The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has claimed that Rabiu Kwankwaso, presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) in the 2023 election, will soon return to the ruling party.

Stepped down as a two-term governor of Kano state, Ganduje stated this during an event organized for members of the Tinubu Support Group (TSG) at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja on Tuesday, April 15.

Declaring the NNPP a party fading in the political landscape of Nigeria, Ganduje observed that the NNPP is no longer a threat to the APC. He said that the NNPP is a dead party, adding that preparations for its burial in absentia have already started.

“The NNPP is dead. And it is soon going to be buried; very, very soon.

I am looking at where we will bury the body. The coffin has already been constructed. What remains now is to dig the grave. And already they are digging the grave very, very soon,” Ganduje said.

He described as ‘stillborn’ the various attempts being made among opposition party leaders to remove President Bola Tinubu from office. According to Ganduje, Kwankwaso, who is presently at the helm of the NNPP, would be welcomed if he decided to rejoin the APC.

“The so-called NNPP national leader, he too, if he says after losing everyone, he wants to come back to us, we will welcome him because he is coming back home,” he said.

Ganduje has called upon all APC support groups to remain steadfast in loyalty while continuing to mobilize for the Tinubu administration. He assured that the party would recognize and involve these groups in future activities.
