Ojo stated that a 90 days leniency period will be granted from May 1 to July 31 after which the new expatriate administration policies will be implemented. He added that the 90 days period was to enable immigrants legalise their status in the country before the enforcement begins.
He stated that the government will no longer tolerate companies that obstruct the immigration services and its duties, issuing a stern warning.
He said ” The days when some companies irresponsibly evade immigration laws are over. The immigration service has a mandate and they must be allowed to execute it . Any attempt to hinder their operations will face strict sanctions”
