Kebbi State Governor, Nasir Idris, has reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering commitment to combating banditry and other criminal activities within the state.
Following an expanded security meeting with heads of security agencies in Birnin Kebbi on Tuesday, the governor praised the dedication and efforts of security personnel in tackling criminal gangs.
Nasir Idris also highlighted the security challenges posed by Kebbi’s border with the Niger Republic, noting that bandits have been infiltrating some local government areas to carry out hit-and-run attacks.
Nasir Idris said security agencies had identified infiltration routes and intensified efforts to repel and block the criminals.
He added that the meeting with security chiefs reviewed strategies to strengthen recent gains in the fight against insecurity across the state.

The governor emphasized that ensuring safety should not be left to the Federal Government alone, but requires collective responsibility of states, local governments and communities.
Security agencies present at the meeting included the Army, Air Force, Police, Civil Defence, DSS, Customs, Immigration, NDLEA, Road Safety, Correctional Service, and local vigilantes.
