Jude Ezenwafor of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), a candidate for governor of Anambra State, has revealed that surviving an assassination attempt is evidence that he is destined to be governor of Anambra state in the upcoming gubernatorial election.
Recall that Ezenwafor narrowly escaped death when he survived an attack by suspected assassins in Abuja on July 19, according to previous reports.
He further stated that he has been deeply traumatised by the incident and that the gunfire was a blatant assault on his life.
“They rained bullets all over my body, but I am bouncing back,” he said in an interview on Arise News on Thursday night.
Ezenwafor who now moves around with the aid of a walking stick and is limping, stated that his present condition is as a result of the incident.

“Today actually is my first day to wear trouser. I’m bouncing back. it was traumatising,” he said.
When asked how he processed the news about his rumoured death, he said, “It was more a bit of lesson. A lesson in life, to know that I can always die any day, and that I’m not going to die soon.
“Because it’s a sign also that I’m destined to be the governor of Anambra state. [I’m] very confident about that.”
