Leke Abejide, the chairman of the House of Representatives Committee on Customs and Excise, has stated that if former president Goodluck Jonathan runs in 2027, President Bola Tinubu will prevail.
According to Abejide, if Jonathan agrees to run in the 2027 election, Tinubu will win more than 32 states in Nigeria.

This was revealed by Leke Abejide, the legislator for Kogi State’s Yagba East/Yagba West/Mopamuro Federal Constituency, in a conversation with Seun Okinbaloye on the Mic On podcast on Saturday.
There have been permutations that Jonathan would contest for the presidency in 2027.
Before being defeated by the late former president Muhammadu Buhari in 2015, Goodluck served one term as president.

However, Abejide warned that GoodLuck might comeback and that Tinubu might only lose in Anambra and Ebonyi States.
The African Democratic Congress, ADC, chieftain said: “My prayer is that they should run like that (different political platforms) and Asiwaju will win 32 states.
“He may lose maybe Anambra, Abia, he will win Ebonyi; he may win more than 32 states.”

On Tinubu being popular, he said: “I just came from Kano, I was in Kano on Wednesday and I slept there. I came to Kaduna by road yesterday morning.
“No insecurity, the road is very good, then I came by train to Abuja this morning and I can tell you that people are happy.”
