Kenneth Imansuagbon was a gubernatorial aspirant under the Labour Party for the 2024 Edo State governorship election.

The educationist officially joined the ADC on Wednesday, July 23, 2025, in Benin City.

Speaking to newsmen shortly after obtaining his membership card, Kenneth Imansuagbon said he is joining the ADC because it is the only credible alternative that will bring genuine change in the country.

Kenneth Imansuagbon, who lamented the high cost of living in the country, noted that as a result, he has not been able to distribute rice to widows annually in the state.

He said, “Nobody can come from any other country to rescue Nigeria. It is we Nigerians that will rescue ourselves.

“I am joining the ADC because I am tired of hunger, it is no longer hunger but starvation.

“A bag of rice that was N7000 in the time of former President Goodluck Jonathan is now about N110,000. It is because of the high cost that I can no longer distribute rice to the widows.”

Kenneth Imansuagbon added that he decided to join ADC because he doesn’t want to be part of the system where those in charge can’t ensure good governance and address high exchange rate, while the masses are suffering.

He said that by joining the ADC, he is ready to lead the battle for change and good governance, employment for youths, good education, and security, among others.

“For me, I have an alternative that is genuinely for change. Alternative that want to reduce food prices, love the common man, widows, and students. That alternative is ADC.

“I moved from the Labour Party to ADC because it is in line with my principles and aspirations of good governance.

“Nigerians should not entertain fear. They should join the ADC because it is the only vehicle for Nigeria to reach the promised land. Nobody can repair Nigeria other than Nigerians.

“People are saying why am I moving from one party to the other. I do so because I am tired of killing, insecurity, poverty, and the high cost of living,” he added.

Receiving Kenneth Imasuagbon, Edo State ADC chairman, Kennedy Odion, described the party as a movement that has come to ensure that Nigeria is not a one-party state.

Odion noted that ADC has provided a platform for Nigerians to actualize their dream and aspirations for good governance.

“Those joining the ADC are people who detest bad governance and vowed to rescue the country from collapsing.

“Before 2027, it would be glaring that the ruling party should park and leave. We are going to witness massive decamping from other parties to ADC,” he stated.
