The Chairman of Kudan Local Government, Hon. Dauda Ilya Abba, has stated that the resignation of Hon. Sanusi Magaji Kudan, the ward chairman of Alhaji Isa Ashiru—the PDP’s 2023 gubernatorial candidate—marks a significant setback for the party’s political standing.

In a statement released on Sunday, Hon. Ilya Abba praised Magaji Kudan, popularly known as Mai Kwando, for what he described as “abandoning a sinking ship that is headed for the bottom of the sea politically.”
He further hailed the resignation as “a bold step in the right direction” and commended Mai Kwando’s move as an effort to better serve the people on what he called a “better and bigger platform.”
The statement advised the former ward chairman to pitch his tent with the All Progressives Congress(APC), which is the ‘’political party that has been impacting positively on the lives of your constituents.’’
The Chairman of Kudan local government warned the African Democratic Congress(ADC) not celebrate the exit of Mai Kwando because ‘’this is not your catch. His true home is the APC, where he has always belonged.’’

The statement further said that ‘’I humbly invite Mai Kwando to come back home to the APC — the party of progress and hope. Your place is waiting and together we will build a stronger Kudan LGA.’’
Hon Ilya Abba maintained that with the wave of defections from other parties into APC in Kaduna State, Governor Uba Sani’s re-election in 2027 is just a matter of time, adding that his rural transformation, Human Capital Development and the completion of inherited projects are evident all over the 23 local governments of the state.
