The Labour Party has stated that it is certain of defeating President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 general elections, pointing to the persistent economic hardship and security disruptions, adding that Nigerians are fed up with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in power.
At a press conference on Saturday, April 19, 2025, in the capital of Ogun State, Abeokuta, Chief Samuel Olaolu, the chairman of the state’s Labour Party, stated as much.

According to him, Nigerians are keen to vote out the APC, hence the President should not be fooled by recent endorsements from certain politicians who assert that his reelection in 2027 is assured.
He said, “The truth is that Nigerians are fed up with the insecurity, hunger, and poor economic situation in the country and could barely wait till 2027 to show the APC-led government the exit door,”

Meanwhile, former Labour Party (LP) vice presidential candidate Yusuf Datti Baba-Ahmed has stated that if President Bola Tinubu genuinely believes he is a savvy politician, he should not run for reelection in 2027.
Speaking on Arise Television’s Prime Time political program, Baba-Ahmed stated that all indications suggest Tinubu and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) will lose the upcoming general election.
Baba-Ahmed mockingly referred to Tinubu as the “super smart” politician who supported multiple presidential contenders before emerging victorious in 2023.
