In an interview on Channels TV’s Morning Brief on Friday, Lanre Adebayo stressed that President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima are committed to advancing democratic governance and tackling the country’s economic challenges.

“The idea of 2027, as important as it may be, is not something that should dominate discourse right now,” Adebayo said.

“The President and his team are concentrating on governance, tackling poverty, stabilizing the economy, and ensuring the welfare of the Nigerian people.”

Lanre Adeboye noted that the country is still recovering from the economic setbacks of the past three years ago and urged the media and political analysts to avoid speculations that could distract the administration’s focus.

“The President and Vice President are working in harmony. There is mutual understanding between them, and they are committed to delivering on their mandate.

“The discussion around who becomes vice president in 2027 is, frankly, too early and unnecessary at this stage,” he added.

Adebayo further cautioned against what he described as “inputting motives” by some analysts and members of the media, saying such actions risk distracting the government from its developmental objectives.

“When the time comes, 2027 will be addressed. But for now, we should be focused on governance, not politics,” Lanre Adeboye concluded.
