The governorship candidate of Action Alliance (AA) in Anambra State, Chief Jeff Nweke, has obtained the license to campaign for the position in the forthcoming election in the state.

Nweke paid a whopping sum of N50million, and was issued the licence by the Anambra State Signage and Advertisement Agency, ANSAA, on Friday.

The license grants the candidate the freedom to display his posters across the state, parade branded vests and also branded vehicles among others.

The deputy governorship candidate of the party, Mr Obi Elvis Anayochukwu who was at the ANSAA to present proof of payment and also pick up the licence said the party is ready for campaigns and also expressed optimism about their victory.

He said: “We have confidence on winning the election. AA is not new. Ozo Nweke is a figure, a household name within Anambra State and beyond. We are seeing and hearing from the masses on who will be their choice.

“We are well positioned to change Anambra State for good, starting with security of lives and property, to attraction of foreign and local investors and others,” he added.

The MD/CEO, ANSAA, Mr Tony Ujubuonu, who personally handed the license to the running mate commended them for adhering to the law.

Nweke is the fourth candidate to pay the levy, which has been described by some of the contestants as being illegal.

The candidates of the YPP, Sir Paul Chukwuma; ADC, Mr John Nwosu and LP’s George Moghalu are three others who have paid the levy.
