Market traders in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, have announced the closure of markets across the city due to Olubadan.

According to the traders, the decision was made to honour the late 43rd Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Akinloye Owolabi Olakulehin.
Our correspondent reports that Oba Olakulehin passed away on Monday, July 7th of this year.
Our correspondent gathered that the final burial of the traditional ruler has been slated to hold today.
In order to honour the traditional ruler, the traders noted that they have shut markets in the ancient city.
The Babaloja General in the state, Alhaji Yekeen Abass, while speaking, said that traders have been mandated to shut markets today in order to honour the traditional ruler.
He added that the partial closure of markets in Ibadanland is expected to start from 5 a.m. till 12 p.m. today, Friday, August 8, 2025.
He advised traders to ensure strict compliance with the directive in their various markets.
