The All Progressives Congress (APC) Party has in a statement commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), security services, and other individuals who were instrumental in the poll’s successful execution, which saw the re-election of Lucky Aiyedatiwa as Ondo’s state governor.
Lucky Aiyedatiwa, the state’s current governor, was proclaimed the election’s victor by INEC at 2:30 pm on Sunday. He had defeated Ajayi Agboola, his closest opponent, who was running under the banner of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The APC claimed minutes after the announcement that the win demonstrated that Aiyedatiwa’s policies reflected the will of the people.
A statement that reads from the All Progressive Party (APC) spokesman, Felix Morka said, “The All Progressives Congress (APC) heartily congratulates the Governor of Ondo State, His Excellency, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, on his re-election.”
“Your Excellency’s resounding victory in the just-concluded Ondo state gubernatorial election is a clear attestation that your administration’s policies and programmes, and campaign message of hope and consolidation have resonated deeply with the electorate.
“With this renewed mandate, we are confident that you will build upon your accomplishments, and take the state to even greater heights of social and economic development for the benefit of the good people of Ondo state.”
“We commend the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and the security agencies for their professionalism and patriotism in the discharge of their constitutional roles during the election,” Morka said.
“We thank the Ondo electorate for their sustained and highly valued support of our great party.”
