In response to Nyesom Wike and his supporters, the governors elected on the Peoples Democratic Party platform have vowed to uphold discipline inside the party and stated that the PDP will not buckle under conceit, impunity, or polarising tendencies.
Speaking at the National Convention Planning Committee’s inauguration on Tuesday, Bauchi State Governor and Chairman of the PDP Governors’ Forum, Bala Mohammed, said the governors are not cowards and are ready to take on anyone who tries to impede the party’s advancement.
He said this in response to threats made by Wike and his colleagues, who have persisted in opposing the party’s National Elective Convention, which is set for November 15 and 16 in Ibadan, Oyo State.
Following their meeting in Abuja on Monday, Wike’s team developed a list of six requirements the PDP leadership must fulfil in order for the convention to proceed without incident.

Mohammed retorted that the governors would not be sidetracked and that the convention will go ahead according to schedule.

Bauchi Governor stated, “We are not cowards, and we are not afraid of anybody.
“We are capable of navigating this party beyond the shenanigans, beyond the arrogance, and beyond the impunity of others.
“We cannot continue to take part and allow people to take us to the slaughterhouse. That’s our job.

“And our job is to make sure we don’t go to the slaughterhouse.
“And we are working as governors and working with the committee to ensure that. The keyword is discipline.
“We will no longer allow or tolerate anybody to take us for granted. It has to stop. Enough is enough. We are not going to tolerate it any longer.”
