Peter Obi Compares Nigeria to Titanic on June 12
Peter Obi, the 2023 Presidential candidate of the Labour Party, likened Nigeria’s current state to the sinking Titanic and an airplane experiencing turbulence during an interview with Arise Television.
He criticized Nigerian leaders for not acknowledging the country’s difficulties while indulging in conspicuous consumption. Obi highlighted the staggering number of homeless people in Nigeria and criticized excessive spending on luxuries.
Drawing parallels to the Titanic disaster, Obi emphasized that leaders should lead by example and demonstrate clear plans to address challenges. He called for a reduction in the cost of governance and combating widespread corruption as essential steps towards improving Nigeria’s situation.
Reflecting on his leadership experience, Obi stressed the importance of integrity and responsible governance. He expressed his commitment to building a better Nigeria, emphasizing the need for fundamental changes to address systemic issues and prioritize the welfare of the Nigerian people.
