The Qatari Ministry of Interior has introduced new visa regulations for Nigerian travellers, citing recent incidents of overstaying as the primary reason for the change.
According to reports, the updated policy now requires Nigerian applicants to provide proof of a confirmed return ticket along with hotel reservations before a tourist or transit visa can be approved.
However, eligibility has also been restricted, as only females or families are allowed to apply. Male travellers are no longer eligible unless accompanied by their families.
In addition, only 5-star hotel bookings will now be accepted for visa qualification.
The new requirements for the Qatari will take immediate effect and apply to all pending visa applications.
