“Shi’ite Group Kills Two Policemen, Injures Others in Abuja Clash”
The FCT Police Command reported that two policemen were killed and three others injured during a clash with members of the proscribed Islamic Movement of Nigeria (Shi’ite group) at Wuse Junction in Abuja. The incident occurred when the group attacked a police checkpoint, wielding machetes, knives, and improvised explosive devices. Three police patrol vehicles were also set ablaze. Several arrests have been made, and the FCT Commissioner of Police has condemned the attack, promising to bring those responsible to justice. The situation is now under control.
