President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday met with French president, President Emmanuel Macron in a private, closed-door meeting.
Tinubu and Macron met at the Élysée Palace in Paris for a private working lunch.
This was revealed on a tweet on X by Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy.
According to Onanuga: “President Bola Tinubu, with his French counterpart, President Emmanuel Macron, during a working private lunch at the Elysee Palace, Paris. Wednesday, September 10, 2025.”
Following their meeting on Wednesday, President Bola Tinubu disclosed the topics he and French President Emmanuel Macron discussed.
Mr president described the meeting as a fruitful one in a post on his official X(formally Twitter).

According to him, the conversation centred on how Nigeria and France can work together to strengthen their alliance for both countries’ prosperity and the stability of the world.
“Had a productive lunch with President Emmanuel Macron.
“We reviewed key areas of cooperation between Nigeria and France and agreed to deepen our partnership for mutual prosperity and global stability,” the President stated.
Recall that the president commenced his annual 10-day working leave on September 4, during which he was expected to visit France and the United Kingdom.
He departed Abuja to commence his 2025 annual leave, which is expected to last for 10 working days.
