President Bola Tinubu will travel to Benue State on Wednesday in response to the ruthless murder of more than 200 local residents by alleged herdsmen.
In response to the attack in the Yelewata community last Friday that claimed the lives of numerous inhabitants, Tinubu recently declared that he would clear up his schedules in order to join the state’s citizens for a condolence visit on Wednesday.

He was also attacked after he urged the Benue state Governor, Hyacinth Alia to call talks and reconciliation sessions amongst the warring factions in order to put an end to the ceaseless killing.
Parts of Enugu and Abia states are experiencing a new round of murderous attacks by armed herdsmen, according to reports, which has left residents terrified and afraid.
Only a few days after a horrific massacre in Benue that killed several people, including women, children, and the elderly, the attacks grew more intense.

The attack was described as the deadliest massacre in Benue’s recent history by many residents.

Many people were cut to death in similar attacks on other communities before the bloodletting in Yelewata, such as Edikwu-Ankpali in Apa and the Tyoshin community in Naka, Gwer East LGA.
Similarly, Aguamede, Eha-Amufu in Enugu State’s Isi-Uzo Local Government Area was the target of similar horror stories.
More than ten people were killed in Aguamede on Sunday by robbers who were thought to be herdsmen, according to a recent reports.
Sources from the community claimed that the killer herdsmen were probably dropped by a helicopter that reportedly flew around the community earlier in the day.
