In a statement signed by the group’s Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Comrade Emeka Umeagbalasi, Intersociety urged Anambra State Governor Prof. Chukwuma Soludo and the State Commissioner of Police, CP Ikioye Orutugu, to intervene promptly.

The group called for the disbandment of vigilante operatives in Uli, Anambra State, as a step toward easing the growing unrest. Umeagbalasi also noted that both CP Orutugu and the Special Adviser to the Governor on Security, Prince Ken Emeakayi, have been formally contacted to take urgent action.

On the cause of the disagreement between both communities, the group said vigilante operatives from Uli have been invading Egbuoma community in Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, where they sometimes abduct the indigenes, and that the latest was the forced abduction of one Kosarachi Ohajuba, who was still detained in the Uli vigilante facility.

“We have written to CP Ikioye Orutugu and Prince Ken Emeakayi in separate petitions, dated Friday, July 25, 2025. We called on the two recipients to order for arrest of the leaders and other operatives of the Uli Central Vigilante Group, operating from Ndikeokwu village of Uli community and have them thoroughly investigated and prosecuted for mass murder and other violent criminal activities.

“We called for the immediate disbandment of the killer-outfit and sealing of their camps and release of those held, including Citizen Kosarachi Ohajuba, abducted since June 20, 2025; with a ransom (“bail fee”) tag of N2 million placed on his head.”

The group said credible intelligence reports gathered shows that the people of Egbuoma community are tired of the continued invasion of their community, and that they plan to fight back, and this may result in casualty in both communities.

It presented acknowledgement copies of the letters sent to both authorities, saying their timely intervention would help calm frayed nerves.

When reached out to Prince Emeakayi who is also the commander of the vigilante operatives in Anambra for reaction to the alleged conduct of his men in Uli, his mobile number was not reachable.
