Making some noise on social media are some thought-provoking appointments made by the Igbo Etiti Local Government Area Executive Chairman of Enugu State, Hon. Dr. Eric Ogbonna Odo.
He appointed two senior special assistants to supposedly help with the agriculture planning of the local government. He appointed Ezeugwu Frederick Ogbonna as an SSA on Yam and Pepper, while he also appointed Nwodo Everestus Ugonna as an SSA on Garden Egg and Pepper.
These appointments have shocked everyone, including the people of the Igbo Etiti Local Government Area in Enugu State.
Some excerpts from the letter read, “I am pleased to inform you that the executive chairman, Igbo Etiti LGA, has approved your appointment as senior special assistant to the local government chairman on agriculture (Garden Egg & Pepper).”
Furthermore, “I am pleased to inform you that the executive chairman, Igbo Etiti LGA, has approved your appointment as senior special assistant to the local government chairman on agriculture (YAM & PEPPER).”
During the election of Local Government Chairman, Hon. Dr. Eric Ogbonna Odo pledged his vision, which states, “To administer the most progressive local government area in sub Saharan Africa”
And to add on his mission for Igbo Etiti, which states, “To create an efficient local government system that respects, honors, and develops the various communities in all ramifications according to the limit of resources available if elected.”
It might be too early to say if the people of the Igbo Etiti Local Government Area in Enugu State made the right choice or not.
