The Zamfara State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has urged Governor Dauda Lawal to reverse the recent dismissal of over 3,000 civil servants from the state workforce.

The appeal was made in a statement released on Monday in Gusau by the party’s Publicity Secretary, Yusuf Idris.
According to the statement, those affected by the disengagement include teachers, healthcare workers, and other civil servants across the state’s 14 local government areas.
Idris described the mass disengagement as “arbitrary,” alleging that the affected employees had earlier passed the government’s verification exercise before being asked to stop work.
He said many of the workers had spent between 10 and 20 years in service and had large families depending on them.
The APC spokesman urged the state government to reconsider its decision, warning that the mass sack could worsen hardship and insecurity in the state.
